1960年捷克卡罗维发利国际电影节最佳导演水晶球奖。　　OriginallytitledSeryozha,theRussianASummertoRememberwasco-adaptedbyVeraPanovafromherownshortstory.WarandPeacedirectorSergeiBondarchukplaysthenewstepfatherofyoungSeryozha(BoryaBarkhatov).Soclosedothestepfatherandtheboybecomeinthemonthsfollowingtheirmeetingthat,whentimecomesfortheboytomoveoninlife,herefusestoleavehisnewdad'sside.TheirsummeridylltakesplaceonaSovietcollectivefarm,managedbyBondarchukanddepictedbynovicefilmmakersGeorgiyDaneliyaandIgorTalankininthemostglowingandapoliticalofterms.Thoughthereisn'tmuchtotheplot,thefilmadmirablysucceedsasasortofcinematictonepoem.　　FromAllMovieGuideRussianfilmmakerGeorgiDaneliyaranksamonghiscountry'smostpopulardirectorsofsatiricalcomedies.TheGeorgia-bornDaneliyacomesfromadistinguishedfamilyoffilmperformers;hisgrandmother,VerikoAndzhaparidze,wasafamedGeorgiansilentfilmactress,hiscousin,SofikoChiaureli,isalsoamajoractress,andhismother,MeriAndzhaparidze,spentmorethanadecadeatMosfilmStudios.However,hefirstchosetotrainasanarchitect(perhapsoutofrespectforhisfather,anengineer).Followinghisgraduationin1955,Daneliyaworkedonlybrieflyinthatfieldwhenhedecidedhe'dratherbeinfilms,enrollinginMosfilmStudios'Directors'Coursesin1958.In1960,Daneliyaco-directedSeryozhaASummertoRememberwithIgorTalankin.Twoyearslater,hemadehissolodirectorialdebut,PutKPrichaluTheWaytotheWharf(1962).His1969comedyNeGoryuy!Don'tWorry!successfullyblendedhumorandmelancholy,adevicethatwouldbecomeDaneliya'strademark.Inadditiontodirecting,Daneliyaco-authorsthescriptsforhisfilmsandoccasionallyworksonscreenplaysforotherdirectors.Daneliyahaswonnumerousnationalandinternationalawardsforhiswork.In1964,hisYaShagayupoMoskveIWalkAroundMoscowreceivedanhonorablementionattheCannesFilmFestival,whilein1975AfonyareceivedaspecialawardattheAllUnionFestival,amajorU.S.S.R.event.Daneliya'sbiggesthitintheU.S.S.R.,Mimino(1977),earnedthespecialprizeattheMoscowInternationalFilmFestivalandtheU.S.S.R.StatePrize.In1991,DaneliyaearnedtheNikaAward(theRussianequivalenttoanOscar)forBestScreenplayforPasport(1990).
