Thisisanintriguingfilm,althoughalittleonthetalkyside.Theperformancesareexcellentthroughout,withMillandshiningasthecad,thetypeofroleinwhichheexcelled.ThoughhespentmostofhistimemakingfilmsintheUS,heoccasionallyreturnedtohisnativeEnglandforaproductionandthiswashisfirstBritishfilmsinceFRENCHWITHOUTTEARSin1939.DirectorAllenwasalsoanEnglishmanwhochosetoworkintheUS,thisbeinghisfirstdirectorialeffortinhishomeland.ThiswasthefourthandlasttimeMillandandAllenwouldworktogether,theirpairinghavingbegunin1944withthewonderfullyeerieTHEUNINVITED.

英文片名高度概括，男主的花言巧语某种程度上点醒了女主精神层面上的贪欲。并且激发了性本恶，参考后期女主无师自通的各项操作，可能连男主都要甘拜下风。片子巧妙在将两人的恶念和真情打了个时间差，良心发现的爱情无法消除真相大白时的愤恨，男主也算从一而终，把女主带入恶的世界，又用自己的生命将她拉回善的路上。就是男主对女主的爱有点突兀，前期并没有给足够的铺垫，让观众无法信服这样一个渣男忽然陷入深情。雷米的气质演这种坏心眼魅力男太轻松了~三星半ajiang8081
